The increase in current abides by the rules of ohm’s law which states that the electric current in a given metallic conductor is directly proportional to the potential difference (Voltage) applied between its ends, provided that the temperature of the conductor and other physical factors remain constant. This relationship simply means that increase in voltage will lead to increase in current in a circuit.This can be represented by an equation below:
