2(x+2)-4x=8 the answer is 8 because it equals 8
If you are simplifying them
Step 1: distribute 2(x+2)-4x=8
So 2 is multiplied with what’s in the parentheses > 2*x + 2*2= 2x+4
Now it is 2x+4-4x=8
Step 3: add like terms
2x and -4x are like terms since they both have
So 2x+ -4x= -2x
Now you have -2x+4= 8
So in order to get x by itself subtract 4 from 8
-2x+4=8
-4 -4
Now you have -2x= 4
Divide negative two from four
So now the answer is x= -2
