17. (16 pts) You set up a two-slit experiment with a laser that produces light with a
wavelength of 600 nm. Which of the following are possible values for the difference in
distance from the slits (distance from slit 1 – distance from slit 2) to a completely dark spot on
the screen?
a) 300 nm
b) 600 nm
c) 900 nm
d) 1200 nm

when the two waves interfere with eachother to make a dark spot the periodic difference of the two waves is π . the wave length for 2π is 600nm

. ie. for π difference it is 300nm
