You walk across the bridge, while your friend walks halfway around the pond to meet you at the other side of the bridge. How much farther does your friend walk?     C= πd, where C means circumference and d means diameter. 0.75 is the diameter of the pond, so 3.14 × 0.75 gives you 2.355mi.

    You walked the diameter while your friend walked the HALF circumference. (2.355÷2) -0.75 is your answer
