    because squares are considered 4 equal sides with 2 sets of parallel lines but rectangles are just shapes with 2 sets of parallel lines so a square fits into this description but a rectangle doesn’t fit into the description of a square

    A square must always have 4 equal sides, therefore all rectangles cannot be squares, as most usually have varying side lengths.

    Rectangles must have opposite sides that are parallel and 4 angles that are 90°. Since squares have all of these, they are all rectangles as well.
