Question

The figure shows a construction made using technology.

The construction shows angles CAB and IDE. There is a circle created from point A that intersects with ray AC, creating point F, and ray AB, creating point G. A circle congruent to circle A was created at point D. Circle D intersects with ray DE, creating point H. Another circle was created on point H that has a radius that is congruent to the distance between points A and F. Circle H intersects with circle D, creating point I. A ray was created through points D and I.

Does the construction demonstrate how to copy an angle correctly using technology? Justify your answer.

  1. The construction does not demonstrate how to copy an angle correctly via the use of technology. Hence the response is option C: No; the distance between points A and F was used to create circle H.

How do a person copy an angle?

The basic notion that guides the copying any form or any given angle is known to be the the use of a compass to be able to sort or measure how wide the angle need to be open and then one can be able to then make or form  another angle using the same rate/ amount of opening.
Note that In the given point of example in the question,  F and G are the said to be the radius of the circle H.
Hence the distance from point A to point F is the one that the technology will used to draw the circle H. The center dot for circle H is known to be point A. The circle is said to be then the copied and the angles are known to be used to form another circle.
Therefore, The construction does not demonstrate how to copy an angle correctly via the use of technology. Hence the response is option C: No; the distance between points A and F was used to create circle H.
