Absolute value refers to the distance of a number from zero, regardless of direction. The distance is always positive, as absolute value of a number cannot be negative.
In first question we need to find absolute temperature.
The temperature is initially  0° C and then it drops by 15° C
So the temperature becomes  = 0 -15 = -15 ° C
Thus, the required absolute temperature that represents a drop in temperature is -15°.
In second question we need to find absolute value of change.
The absolute value of Michaels’s account overdraft of \$75 will be 75.
It is because absolute values are always written as positive value.
In the third question we need to find absolute value of change.
The absolute value of elevator will be 9 as the elevator ascended from ground floor to 9 floor.
In the fourth question we again need to find the absolute value of change.
