    Answer:2.5 Nm clockwise

    Explanation:

    Given

    Torque exerted by Elephant \tau _1=5.3\ Nm(CW)

    Torque exerted by rhino \tau _2=2.8\ Nm(ACW)

Therefore Net torque is Algebraic sum of two torques

    \tau _{net}=\tau _1+\tau _2

    Considering Clockwise to be Positive

    \tau _{net}=5.3-2.8

    \tau {net}=2.5\ Nm

Therefore  net torque on Merry-go-round is 2.5 Nm clockwise
