    The coil get attraction because of the Earths rotation. That is by the Earths circular circumference . Which is also because of the perpendicular ratio to the Sun. That is the phenomenon in real life. To increase the strengthen you can make the coil have more turns or twist it more around the nail. You can also strengthen it by increasing the current flow through the coil so it will run quicker and run more in general and it would be a strong electromagnet.
