dentists should be sending claims to many different insurance companies. since your company only represents a few of those companies, the sequential numbers on the claim sheets from a given dentist will rotate through all the companies that dentist is working with. if the numbers sent to you from a given dentist are sequential, you know that the dentist is only sending claims to you. search the claims file for sequential numbers from any given dental office. are any dentists sending you sequential claims?

  1. No, I do not believe that any dentists are sending me sequential claims.
Many of the claims that I receive from dentists are for services provided to patients by different insurance companies. There is no reason for the dentist to send me the same claim numbers in the same order.
As a result, the claim numbers that I receive from a given dental office are not typically sequential. Furthermore, even if the claim numbers were sequential, there is no guarantee that the dentist is only sending claims to me as they could be sending claims to other insurance companies as well.
