Question

A music store buys instruments and then sells them for 30% more than they paid.

If the price tag on a trumpet says 104, how much did the store pay for it?
(sorry for asking some many questions . . . my teacher isn’t helpful

The answer is $72.80. You would take 30% off of$104, making you end up with your answer.
Hello!  30% of $45 means we must multiply 0.30 and 45.$45 x 0.30 = $13.50 is the markup. Next, add$13.50 to $45 for a total of$58.50 to get the total amount the store will charge with the markup.
