A farmer placed an order for 13 2/5 tons of fertilizer. he calculates that the corn fields will require 9 1/10 tons of it. how much fertilizer will the farmer have left for his other crops?

Answers

  1. The 4 3/10 tons of fertilizer will the farmer have left for his other crops.
    According to the given question.
Quantity of total fertilizer the farmer have = 13 2/5tons
And, the quantity of fertilizer which is needed by farmer = 9 1/10tons
Since, the quantities are given in mixed fraction.
So, the above quantities can be written as
    13 2/5 = 67/5
    And, 9 1/10 = 91/10
    Therefore,
The quantity of fertilizer will left for the other crops of farmer
    = 67/5 – 91/10
    = (2(67) – 91)/10
    = 134 – 91/10
    = 43/10
    = 4 3/10tons
Hence, the 4 3/10 tons of fertilizer will the farmer have left for his other crops.
