Question

-3 (n + 5) = 12
Please explain its due tonight and I need to study for my math unit test tomorrow if I fail I don’t pass.

Answers

  1. First you want to distribute, keep in mind you cannot add in the parentheses because they are NOT like terms.
    Once u distribute you should have
    -3n-15=12
    Now you want to add 15 to both sides to cancel it out ( because n has to be isolated)
    -3n=27
    Now you want to divide by -3 to both sides to get n by itself
    n=-9
